Step It Up, Joe. Step It Up!!

A few weekends ago (ok actually a month ago) we (Jason, Candice, Jeff, and I) went to Beale Street for my birthday. First, we drove to Collierville and ate at Cheeburger Cheeburger which looks like an old timey diner with really good food. We did a little shopping then headed to the hotel. The boys checking out the view...i think someone might be afraid of heights!!! We went on a carriage ride which was a first for all of us. It was very interesting to say the least. Our horse got hit by a car (well his head did, but he was ok) and our driver had different personalities, but it was definitely a neat experience. We got dressed up and headed out on the town! But Candice and I had to have a photo shoot first.....Jason was apparently less than amused ;) We went to Rendezvous for dinner. I'm glad we ate there, but i have definitely had better food.
After hanging out on Beale for a while we decided to go to Hooter's and watch the UFC fight and we ate AGAIN. Unfortunately, the rain set in so we were headed back to the room at 10:30pm, but we did take a cab, which was another first for all of us! Wow, we obviously don't get out much! lol

Dear Mr. Dreaded Staph

Dear Mr. Dreaded Staph,

You have come into my home unwillingly and at first i was very polite to you. You seemed to really like my child and yes i do know he is precious, but I was not very fond of your friendship. Obviously you decided to start hanging out with my husband and yes i do know he is pretty awesome to be around, but I like to have him all to myself. For some unknown reason you decided that you like my face, particularly my eye, but you see Mr. Dreaded Staph, im not nearly as fun to be around. As a matter of fact Im pretty sure you picked the absolute worst person to "try" to become friends with. You brought pain to my son and husband and i didnt really understand how much of a pain in the "ugh ummm" (sorry had to clear my throat) butt you really are, but now that i have experienced the kind of pain that my 2 boys had to go through, im mad, REALLY REALLY mad. I will do EVERYTHING in my power to kill you and your obnoxious little family. Thank you for understanding.

Sincerely,

Mr. Dreaded Staph KILLER

We in the GIT TOE, Aunt Roo Roo?

Krissie and I took Coden and Landon to the zoo on Good Friday. It was the perfect day to go...not very crowded and the weather was awesome. The boys were sooo good! On the way home we got a little lost and ended up in the ghetto! Coden kept calling it the GIT TOE :) That kid makes me smile. All in all it was a great day and i look forward to taking them back!We had to get a picture of the boys with YAYA the panda bear ;) Coden and I on the Choo Choo Train!Krissie and Landon on the Choo Choo Train! This picture absolutely cracks me up...Coden, Landon and I went underground and popped up so Kris could take a picture of us. I told Coden to act like a prairie dog and this was the face he came up with! I laugh out loud every time i look at it :) Landon took over Aunt Fishy's ice cream...Our last stop was the water fountain. It was still a little cool so we didnt let the boys jump in, but believe me there were plenty of kids stripped down in their underware taking a swim! lol

EASTER 2010

The Easter Bunny hopped over for a visit......Then we headed to sunrise service at 7:00 am. After services we ate breakfast that was prepared by the church and then the kiddies had an Easter egg hunt. Landon really enjoyed it this year :) Landon figured out the eggs had candy in them....so of course he had to try it out. "Look Mama!!!"

Just Answer The Question Please....

I'm one of those moms that takes my baby for his well baby checkups on the day he turns a certain age. For example i scheduled his 3 month checkup on the day he turned exactly 3 months and so on for 6 mo, 9 mo, 1 year....Yes, im crazy like that! Anyways, this morning it hit me that Landon hasn't been to the doctor for his 2 year well checkup, so i decided to call the doctor's office to see if he needs any shots.

What transpired next made me feel like a complete idiot and a little, well a lot...irritated.

Me: Hey, my son turned 2 in January and i just realized that he hasn't been to the doctor for his 2 year well check up. Is he up to date on all of his shots?

Receptionist: ..............sits there in silence

Me: I haven't received anything in the mail about his shots or making him an appointment so i just wanted to call and make sure he was up to date.

Receptionist: Whats his date of birth

Me: 1/3/08

Receptionist: Landon Hall?

Me: Yes mam

Receptionist: He hasn't been in for his 2 year check up.!.!.!

Me: REALLY, I WASN'T AWARE OF THAT....ok, that's what i was thinking. What i really said was "No mam, he hasn't been in. Can you tell me if he is up to date on his shots?"

Receptionist: Are you needing to make an appointment?

Me: Well im not sure....if he is up to date on his shots, then no, but if he needs 2 year shots, then yes i will need to make an appointment. Can you check to see if he is up to date on his shots?

Receptionist: Yes, hold one minute please.....***after about 5 minutes****....Mam, he has had his 1 year shots and his 18 month shots.

Me: Ok, Well does he need any shots for 2 years?

Receptionist: No, we don't give shots for 2 years...he wont need any more until he starts school. Would you still like to make an appointment?

Me: ***dropping my head and shaking it in disbelief**** No mam...that's all i needed. Thank you!

Jason and I don't particularly care for this clinic, but its the only pediatric clinic in New Albany and most people highly recommend them. Thankfully, the doctors aren't complete idiots, i mean a little off, like the receptionist are! ;)

I work at McDonald's, Momma!

Just wanted to let you all know that Landon is now employed at McDonalds (according to him). This was our conversation this morning....
Landon: "Is Daddy at work?"
Me: "Yes."
Landon: (crossing his arms) "I go work too!"
Me: "You do?"
Landon: "Uh huh" (shaking his head up and down with his arms still crossed)
Me: "Where do you work?"
Landon: "Ummmm....McDonald's."
Me: "McDonald's?"
Landon: "Uh huh....I eat fries!"

Of course i started laughing because he was so serious. I instantly thought about my nephew, Coden. He used to and still does come up with the most bizarre stories. It's so amazing how children have such creative imaginations!

A few of Landon's milestones as of recently are....
-he knows all his shapes
-he knows most of his colors (he has a hard time with green, black, and brown)
-he says thank you almost every time he should
-when you say thank you to him, he says your welcome
-he knows all of his animals and the sounds they make (when you ask him what a deer says he says boom boom...thanks mom! We will need to work on that one!)
-he knows the difference between hot and cold, rain and snow, night and day (he says good morning in the mornings and goodnight at night time:)
-he knows the difference in boys and girls (he knows that chapstick is for boys and lipstick is for girls...heels, bras, jewelry etc. he knows is for girls)
-he talks in complete sentences 90% of the day and i am continually amazed at his vocabulary
-he has a FANTASTIC memory ( he was looking at a picture of Mawmaw Duff on the fridge the other day and said thats Mawmaw Duff...she lives in Columbus and we hardly see her, but he still remembers)
-he loves going to church and understands the concept of it (this past Sunday i picked him up at church and he said "Momma, i was praising the Lord"..I said "you were?" and he said "Amen!".
-He loves his family and friends more than anything and he talks about each of you all the time, as a matter of fact he calls each of you on his imaginary phone almost every night...especially Coco ;)
-He loves to be the center of attention (mostly the center of my attention) at all times which can be challenging and aggravating.
-The last thing for right now...he told me this morning he wanted a baby, so i asked him if he wanted a baby brother or a baby sister and he said he wants a baby sitser! He'll have to take that up with Daddy ;)
